I was in the mountains about all day yesterday hiking. On my way out of the mountains I topped over this little knoll and the entire swag before me was basically just a big ramp patch. All of the green in this photo is ramps (wild leek). Even for the novice hunter this patch would be hard to miss.
Although I didn’t get any of these ramps they are the perfect size for harvesting. Plants much smaller than these are a lot more potent and they don’t really get much bigger than these before dying.
When one tugs at a single thing in nature; he finds it attached to the rest of the world.
