I don't know either Kristine - these people were probably bored. Looking to tear something up.

Mountaingoat - believe me I know exactly what you mean. I love this state and for people to trash it so recklessly just grates on my nerves. A place I go a lot to take photos is Peachtree Falls which is actually just a couple of miles from this house. But anyway right up from the falls is an area where people are dumping garbage. That makes me so mad I can't see straight. I've written the DNR and the EPA a few times but nobody has ever gotten back with me. They just don't seem to care...

Man, that kind of bastardry really p____ me off. There are so many good people and beautiful old buildings in your part of the world, but regretably there are some trashy morons as well. I remember on the AT, the ATC people would warn hikers to camp or stay in shelters in places too far from the road for idiots with cars and six-packs (and who knows what else) to visit. The shelters accessible to cars were invariably vandalised and degraded; trash was dumped everywhere. That people (presumably) from the local area would foul their own nests like that astounds me. I'm angry now, Denny, and it's only breakfast time! Thanks a lot...

That's so sad. I don't know why people do things like that. I guess not enough people understand the importance of history.

Thanks for commenting Bryan. I think it is a shame. We lose enough of our heritage daily from things apparently beyond our control - self inflicted loss is senseless.

Hello, Denny. What a shame that somebody would destroy someone's personal property like that, not to mention a place that holds such significance of others as well. It's astounding how little regard for others some people have. At least you've immortalized it to some extent with your photograph, I suppose.
